BSE postpones Special Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (SOTET) 2025, check details

Cuttack, July 20: Board of Secondary Education (BSE) postponed the Special Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (SOTET) 2025, which was scheduled to be conducted today.

A notification issued in this regard said that the examination has been postponed until further notice.

As per the original schedule, the examination was set to take place at 193 centres across Odisha on Sunday, with 75,403 candidates having registered to take the test.

 “The Special OTET 2025 (Paper-I, Paper-II), which has been scheduled to be held on 20.07.2025, is hereby postponed until further notification,” read the official statement by BSE.

The BSE has not provided a specific reason for the postponement and advised candidates to regularly check the official website for updates on the new exam dates.

Notably, both Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the examination have been postponed. Paper 1 is for teachers of Classes 1 to 5, while Paper 2 is for teachers of Classes 6 to 8. The exam is meant for in-service teachers who meet the eligibility requirements.
