Bomb Threat Call Prompts Security Sweep at Mumbai's Taj Mahal Palace Hotel

Mumbai, July 12: A bomb threat call targeting Mumbai's iconic Taj Mahal Palace Hotel prompted an extensive security operation on Sunday, with police launching an investigation into the source of the threat.

According to officials, Navi Mumbai Police received a phone call around 12 a.m. claiming that the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel would be blown up. The information was immediately passed on to Mumbai Police, who responded by conducting a thorough search of the hotel premises.

After an extensive inspection, no suspicious objects were found. Authorities have since begun investigating the origin of the threat and are working to identify and trace the individual who made the call. Further details are awaited.

The incident follows a similar hoax bomb threat reported a day earlier involving Delhi's Red Fort. In that case, a threat call received by the Mumbai Police control room was promptly shared with Delhi Police, triggering a high-security alert.

The North District Police carried out a comprehensive security check and verification of the historic monument. The threat was later confirmed to be a hoax, and no explosives or suspicious items were found.

Police are continuing their investigation into both incidents and are attempting to trace the callers behind the false bomb threats.
