​​​​​​​Lucknow, Oct 4: At least two people were killed following a massive explosion occurred at a coaching center in Farrukhabad, UP on Saturday.

Several others were rescued from under the debris and rushed to the hospital for resuscitation.

The incident took place on Satanpur Mandi Road under the Qadri Gate police station area.

Farrukhabad SP Arti Singh said, the scene seems to be a coaching institute and it has a septic tank in the basement. The blast probably occurred due to excess concentrated methane there. However, a switch board found on the spot left the police in a mystery.

7 people were injured, of whom two have died and 5 are critical and receiving treatment. Further investigation is underway, she added.
