Patna, April 18: The Bihar government, under Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, has granted Z security cover to newly appointed two Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav, along with Nishant Kumar, the son of Nitish Kumar, who recently resigned as the state's CM.
The decision was announced through official notifications by the state home department on Saturday, just days after the leadership transition. The two seasoned JD(U) leaders took the oath as deputy CMs following Nitish Kumar’s resignation earlier this week.
Notably, Nishant Kumar, who joined the JD(U) only a month ago and has yet to be elected to the legislature, was also granted Z security. Meanwhile, the security of senior BJP leader Vijay Sinha, who held the deputy CM post in Nitish's government alongside Samrat Choudhary, has been downgraded from Z-plus to Z.
