Odisha Govt Adds 151 Civil Services Posts | Big Relief

Bhubaneswar, Jan 3: The state government has decided to fill 151 additional vacancies through the Odisha Civil Services Examination following the intervention of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

The decision of the state government came after reports of dissatisfaction among aspirants over the absence of vacancies in key cadres in the recently issued Odisha Civil Services Examination (OCSE) 2025 notification by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC).

The OPSC recently released the notification for the Odisha Civil Services Examination (OCSE) 2025. However, reports emerged that several important cadres, including the Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) and Odisha Revenue Service (ORS), had no vacancies mentioned in the notification. This led to dissatisfaction and concern among civil services aspirants across the state.

After becoming aware of the situation, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi intervened promptly. He reviewed the matter and directed the concerned departments to reassess the availability of vacant posts and take immediate steps to ensure their inclusion in the recruitment process.

Following this intervention, the state government has formally requested the Odisha Public Service Commission to fill an additional 151 vacancies through the Odisha Civil Services Examination. These include:

  • 14 posts in the Odisha Administrative Service (OAS)
  • 113 posts in the Odisha Revenue Service (ORS)
  • 16 posts in the Odisha Transport Service (OTS)
  • 8 posts in the Odisha Welfare Service (OWS)

With this decision, a total of 151 additional posts have been recommended for recruitment.

This move is expected to benefit a large number of young aspirants, providing them with the opportunity to appear for the examination and secure government service positions based on merit.

The Chief Minister reiterated that employment generation remains a top priority for the state government. He noted that in the last 18 months alone, nearly 40,000 government posts have already been filled.
