Bhubaneswar, August 13: As the 79th Independence Day is just one day away, the preparations are in full swing in Odisha. The final touches are being made for the grand celebrations in Odisha’s capital, Bhubaneshwar, today.
A full-dress rehearsal was conducted on Wednesday at Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar, the venue for the state-level event, to ensure a seamless and spectacular performance on August 15.
The rehearsal saw vibrant participation from the Border Security Force (BSF), Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF), and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), along with enthusiastic school contingents. In total, 50 groups are set to take part in this year’s parade practice.
Adding a musical flourish to the occasion, the parade will feature four police bands and four school bands, each ready to enthrall the crowd with their synchronized beats and spirited performances.
At the forefront of the celebrations, Contingent Commander Ananya Abasti will lead the parade, ensuring precision and discipline among the marching units.
The administration has already finalized security measures, traffic management plans, and seating arrangements to accommodate the expected large turnout. Thousands are anticipated to gather on August 15 to witness the grand parade and cultural programs, marking yet another proud moment in India’s enduring journey of freedom.
