Bhubaneswar, Oct 7: As the festive season approaches, each committee is striving to attract attention with impressive decorations, from eye-catching arches to illuminated gates.
Among the notable initiatives this year is the Badagada Netaji Youth Association, which has introduced a unique approach. The committee plans to promote a plastic-free environment and raise awareness on no-tobacco and alcohol-free zone. To kick off this initiative, they will first ensure that their pandal and its surrounding areas should be plastic free. Additionally, no committee member will be engaged in having tobacco or alcohol during the festivities.
Since 1976, the youth association has been organizing the worship of Goddess Haraparvati, serving the communities of Badagad village and Badagad Brit Colony together. This year, they will unveil a stunning 70-foot high and 60-foot long decorative arch. The pandal will feature the worship of Haraparvati along with deities Kartik, Ganesh, and other deities, all adorned in gold and silver decorations.
To enhance the visual appeal, attractive lighting from Kolkata will be installed. The main road in Badagad Brit Colony will be illuminated with modern lighting.
For security, 12 CCTV cameras will be installed, along with a team of 90 members and security personnel. Various cultural events are scheduled to be held over five days, with the ‘Annaprasad’ being presented on the seventh day. On the eighth day, 2,000 people will be served ‘Dahi khichdi.’
