Berhampur, October 8: Berhampur JMFC Rural Court has rejected the bail applications of all 119 individuals implicated in the ongoing Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment scam. The court’s decision underscores the severity of the charges in this high-profile case.

The Crime Branch, which is spearheading the investigation, has arrested a total of 119 suspects in several stages. Among those detained are 114 examinees and 5 middlemen, all of whom are currently incarcerated.

On Wednesday, bail applications for all the accused were presented before the court. However, each petition was dismissed, with the court citing the serious nature of the allegations. Public Prosecutor Biswajit Baral confirmed the court’s verdict, emphasizing that the denial of bail reflects the gravity of the ongoing investigation.

The SI recruitment scam has sparked widespread public outrage, raising serious concerns over the transparency and integrity of competitive examinations in Odisha. Authorities are continuing to probe the alleged network behind the cheating and manipulation of the recruitment process.
