Bargarh, Sept 22: Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday conducted simultaneous searches at six locations linked to Kartikeswar Behera, PEO of Katabhal Gram Panchayat and in-charge PEO of Firingimal and Gourenmunda panchayats under Gaisilet Block, over alleged possession of disproportionate assets.

The searches are being conducted based on warrants issued by the Special Vigilance Judge, Bargarh.

The team includes five DSPs, eight Inspectors, two ASIs and other staff.

Vigilance officials are searching Behera’s double-storeyed house, six-room market complex, three-room godown and an under-construction four-storeyed building at Gaisilet, along with his ancestral house and office chamber at Katabhal GP.

The searches are underway, and details of the assets and documents seized are awaited.
