Balangir, Dec 12: The Blue Lagoon Marriage Hall located in Balangir’s Brahmanpada area has been sealed after municipal authorities found multiple irregularities in its documents. According to officials, the establishment failed to comply with essential municipal norms related to parking, town planning and land records.

Despite being served a notice earlier, the owner of the Blue Lagoon Hotel reportedly neither responded nor submitted valid documents. Following this, the marriage hall was sealed on Friday in the presence of police personnel and a magistrate.

Municipal officials also inspected the documents of two Blue Lagoon hotels—one at Brahmanpada and another near Cinema Hall Road. The executive officer of the municipality stated that if these hotels are also found to be violating regulations, they too will be sealed.

In a wider enforcement drive, the municipality has issued notices to 60 commercial establishments across the town. Inspections are currently underway, and authorities warned that any hotel, mall, showroom or shop found violating rules will face sealing and further action.
