Puri, March 28: Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi on Saturday visited the Shree Jagannath Temple along with his family and offered prayers to Lord Jagannath, seeking blessings for the safety and security of the nation and the armed forces.

After the darshan, the Army Chief said he felt blessed and experienced a sense of peace upon visiting Puri. He also prayed for the continued protection and strength of the Indian Army.

According to sources, General Dwivedi arrived in Puri at around 5:15 AM via NH-316 from the 120 Battalion. He returned to Sainik Sadan at around 8:00 AM after completing the temple visit, where he stayed briefly.

As per the schedule, he will depart from Talabania helipad at 9:20 AM for the Military Station in Gopalpur. At around 10:30 AM, he will proceed towards Gopalpur Sea Beach.

During his visit, the Army Chief will review training arrangements at the ADC headquarters, felicitate veteran soldiers, and hold discussions with station officers. A live firing exercise and weapons display are also planned at the field firing range.

He is scheduled to interact with serving and retired army personnel in the evening and will stay overnight at Gopalpur. The following morning, he will leave for Bhubaneswar by helicopter before returning to Delhi.
