Mumbai, May 10: Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma has publicly expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the Indian Armed Forces in light of Operation Sindoor, a recent military initiative targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
Taking to Instagram on Friday afternoon, Anushka conveyed her admiration and support, stating, "Eternally grateful to our Indian Armed Forces for protecting us through these times like the heroes that they are. Heartfelt gratitude to the sacrifices they and their families have made." She concluded the message with folded hands and the Indian flag emojis, symbolizing respect and patriotism.
Joining her in saluting the armed forces, Anushka’s husband and Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli also posted a tribute. "We stand in solidarity with and salute our armed forces for fiercely protecting our country in these difficult times. We are forever indebted to our heroes for their unwavering bravery and heartfelt gratitude for the sacrifices they and their families make for our great nation," he wrote.
The tributes come in the wake of Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam. As part of the operation, the Indian Army targeted and destroyed terrorist camps at nine locations across the border. On the night of May 8 and into May 9, Indian forces successfully countered multiple drone attacks launched from Pakistan along the western border and the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
The operation marks another chapter in the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, reinforcing the crucial role of the armed forces in national defense.
