Angul, Oct 18: The Kanchan Bazaar puja committee has created Puri Jagannath Temple, including the Ratna Simhasan and Anand Bazaar, establishing a captivating ambiance for the festivities.
This year, the puja committees have made a concerted effort to attract visitors and honor Maa Laxmi, emphasizing their creativity in both aesthetics and community participation. Various committees are in fierce competition to present the most alluring themes, with some opting for traditional motifs while others showcase modern decorations, all centered around the theme of Maa Laxmi.
On the second day of the festivities on Thursday, a large crowd gathered at the mandap to pay homage to the deity, creating a vibrant scene filled with devotion. The competition among different committees has intensified, as each aims to stand out with their unique themes and cultural programs.
Notably, the Kanchan Bazaar Committee has opted for the temple theme in their arch designs, drawing the attention of visitors. Additionally, arrangements have been made for devotees to wash their feet before entering the temple, echoing traditional practices.
The Lakshmi Bazaar Committee has crafted a stunning crown adorned with silver and gold for the goddess, enhancing her majestic presence. In contrast, the Shant Bazaar Committee is hosting rituals for Lakshmi Narayan within a beautiful glass pavilion, showcasing their innovative spirit.
The various market areas, including Amala Pada, Dashahara Padia, and Huluri Singha, are also adorned with high arches, creating a festive atmosphere as rituals for Goddess Gajalaxmi are performed.
Decorations at Kalinga Market have received special attention, while Daily Market has impressed visitors with creative use of ‘jula’ (swing). The Sanjibani Market has been beautifully decorated with flowers, further enhancing the festive mood.
Different puja committees have focused on decorations, transforming the town with colorful lights and enchanting themes.
