Bhubaneswar, May 26: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday met BJP national president Nitin Nabin amid ongoing speculation over a reshuffle in the Cabinet in the State.
The Chief Minister said that they discussed organisational matters and the holistic development of Odisha.
He also expressed gratitude to Nabin for his continuous support and guidance for the development of State.
“Called on Shri@NitinNabinJi, Hon’ble National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, in New Delhi today. We discussed organisational matters and the holistic development of Odisha. Grateful for his continuous support and guidance,” posted Majhi on ‘X’.
Yesterday, Majhi called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.Sources said, during the meeting, Chief Minister Majhi is believed to have sought the nod of the PM for the long-awaited Ministry reshuffle and Cabinet expansion in the State, inclduing political appointments in various corporations and boards.
With six Ministerial berths lying vacant, speculation has been rife about inducting new faces and reallocating portfolios ahead of the BJP Government's second anniversary next month.
Meanwhile, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari today hinted at a reshuffle in the State cabinet saying the expansion may happen any time.
“A cabinet expansion may take place at any moment. The process of appointments to corporation and boards have also started. The party and the Government have already started the selection process. It will be completed very soon,” said Pujari.
