Mumbai, June 10: The makers of Alpha have released the first teaser of the much-awaited spy thriller, offering a glimpse into the next chapter of the expanding YRF Spy Universe.
Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film stars Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in lead roles, making it the first female-led installment in the spy franchise created by Yash Raj Films.
The teaser picks up from the post-credit sequence of War 2, where Bobby Deol is seen tattooing the Alpha insignia on the arm of a young Sita, Alia Bhatt’s character.
In the newly released footage, Sita celebrates her 18th birthday with her mentor Baba, played by Bobby Deol. The celebration quickly takes a dramatic turn when Baba presents her with a box containing details of her first spy mission, marking the beginning of her journey into the world of espionage.
Apart from Alia Bhatt, Sharvari and Bobby Deol, the film will also feature Anil Kapoor, reprising his role from War 2.
Alpha becomes the latest addition to the YRF Spy Universe, which includes blockbuster franchises such as Pathaan, War, and the Ek Tha Tiger series.
Known for directing the acclaimed Netflix series The Railway Men, Shiv Rawail is helming the project.
The action-packed spy thriller is scheduled to hit theatres on July 3, and is expected to play a key role in shaping the future of the YRF Spy Universe.
