Alia Bhatt condemns viral video of new bungalow as a "clear invasion of privacy"

Mumbai, Aug 26: Bollywood star Alia Bhatt has publicly criticized the unauthorized circulation of videos and photos of her under-construction bungalow in Bandra, describing the act as a grave invasion of privacy and a serious security risk.

Taking to Instagram, she shared a statement urging media outlets and individuals to immediately remove such content.

Stressing the sanctity of private space, she asserted: “I understand that in a city like Mumbai, space is limited – sometimes the view from your window is another person’s home. But that does not give anyone the right to film private residences and push those videos online.”

The video in question—captured without her knowledge or consent—showcases glimpses of the six‑storey “Krishna Raj” bungalow, a heritage property in the Kapoor family, currently being renovated.

Bhatt emphasized, “This is a clear invasion of privacy and a serious security issue. Filming or photographing someone’s personal space without permission is not ‘content’—it’s a violation. It should never be normalised.”

Bhatt appealed directly to her followers and the media: “If you come across such content online, please don’t forward it or share it further. And to our friends in the media who have carried these images and videos: I urge you to take them down immediately.”
