Ayodhya, September 2: Air Marshal (Retd) Jeetendra Mishra, who headed the Western Air Command during Operation Sindoor, has been appointed the first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
Mishra, who served in the Indian Air Force for nearly four decades, described the appointment as a “great fortune” and said he considered it the blessings of Lord Ram. He pledged to use his experience to serve the temple and devotees.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Trust’s trustees in Ayodhya following a rigorous selection process. More than 5,000 applications were reportedly received for the post. Mishra has extensive leadership experience and is a recipient of the Uttam Yudh Seva Medal.
The Trust also appointed three new trustees—Mahesh Bhagchandka, advocate Madan Mohan Pandey and academic Dr Nirmala Yadav—to fill vacant positions.
While VHP leader Bajrang Lal Bagra welcomed the appointments, Congress leaders Bhupesh Baghel and Kumari Selja questioned the decision and raised concerns over the Trust’s financial management. BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain congratulated Mishra and expressed hope that he would perform his responsibilities effectively.
