Bhubaneswar, August 12:The Odisha government on Wednesday clarified that farmers need not worry about paddy procurement due to their Agristack Farmers Registry status.

The state Cabinet took note of reports claiming that farmers were facing difficulties in obtaining Agristack registrations, which could affect their registration on the Paddy Procurement Automation System (PPAS).

After detailed discussions, the Cabinet clarified that Agristack registration is not linked to PPAS registration for paddy procurement. Farmers will therefore not face any difficulty in selling their paddy on account of their Agristack registration status.

The government further stated that registration of farmers in the PPAS system for paddy procurement will continue this year in the same manner as in previous years.

The clarification is aimed at allaying concerns among farmers regarding the procurement process for the upcoming paddy season.
