Odisha: Sudarsan Pattnaik prays for Nepal's peace amid crisis through sand art on Puri Beach

Puri, Sept 11: Amid the mayhem in Nepal, internationally acclaimed sand artist and Padma Shri awardee Sudarsan Pattnaik crafted a sand sculpture on Puri Beach in Odisha, praying for the peace and well-being of Nepalese people.

Taking to his official ‘X’ handle, Pattnaik shared pictures of his sand art and wrote, “My heart goes out to Nepal. 🕊️Through my sand art at Puri Beach, I share a humble prayer for peace. #Peace #Nepal #SandArt #Odisha.”

The sand art features the Nepalese Parliament building engulfed in flames, symbolizing a crisis or turmoil. Above the burning structure, thick smoke rises into the sky. In front of the burning building, two large hands made of sand hold a circular representation of Nepal's flag, along with the message "PRAYING FOR PEACE" written in bold letters. Below, the word "NEPAL" is written in the sand, further emphasizing the theme.

Through his artwork, Pattnaik has called for Nepal to restore peace, emphasizing that violence and loss of life harm any nation. He appeals to everyone to join him in praying for peace.
