90 Flights to Operate from UAE to India on Sunday Amid Ongoing Middle East Tensions

New Delhi, March 22: Around 90 flights are scheduled to operate from the UAE to India on Sunday, with additional flights continuing from Saudi Arabia and Oman. Qatar Airways is also expected to run 9–10 non-scheduled flights to India.

Kuwait’s airspace remains closed, while Jazeera Airways has started operations from Al Qaisumah Airport (Saudi Arabia). Gulf Air continues special flights from Dammam Airport to India despite Bahrain's airspace closure. Due to restrictions in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Iraq, Indian nationals are being assisted via Saudi Arabia.

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways continues to monitor shipping and port operations, ensuring the safety of Indian seafarers in the Middle East. Over 547 seafarers have been repatriated, and Indian-flagged vessels in the Persian Gulf are under constant monitoring.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) maintains a 24/7 control room to assist the Indian community, coordinating with local governments and handling emergencies. Since February 28, more than 350,000 passengers have returned to India, though six Indian nationals have lost their lives, with one still missing.
