7 injured as private bus crashes into tree in Odisha's Anandpur, helper critical

At least seven passengers were injured, after a private passenger bus crashed into a roadside tree near Ghasipura Petrol Pump Square under Anandapur police limits in Odisha's Keonjhar district early on Saturday.

Anandpur, Jul 4: At least seven passengers were injured, after a private passenger bus crashed into a roadside tree near Ghasipura Petrol Pump Square under Anandapur police limits in Odisha's Keonjhar district early on Saturday.

The accident occurred when a bus, travelling from Jharsuguda to Bhadrak, lost control near the petrol pump square and rammed into a tree. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained.

Among the seven injured, the bus helper sustained critical injuries, while the remaining victims suffered minor injuries. Local residents and fellow passengers rushed to the spot and rescued the injured before shifting them to the Anandapur Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment.

The bus was carrying more than 40 passengers at the time of the accident. Fortunately, no other passengers suffered serious injuries.

Police from Ghasipura reached the accident site soon after receiving information and have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the mishap.
