Bhubaneswar, May 13: Ace Filmmaker Sabyasachi Mohapatra received Lifetime Achievement Award in 5th Star Odia Film Awards, which was held in Singapore in association with the Singapore Odia Society.
The event, celebrating excellence in Odia cinema, was hosted internationally for the second time, drawing renowned filmmakers, actors, and cultural icons.

A major highlight of the evening was the Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Sabyasachi Mohapatra, a nationally awarded and internationally acclaimed filmmaker. Known for his significant contributions to the growth and recognition of Odia cinema, Mohapatra was honoured for his exceptional work and influence over the decades.
This year’s awards recognized talent across 32 categories. The film “Power” was crowned Best Film, with Ashok Pati winning Best Director for the same. Gaurav Anand bagged the Best Music Director title. Acclaimed actor Babusaan and actress Elina Samantray received Best Actor and Best Actress respectively for their amazing performances.
In addition to these, several other artists were honoured in various categories, celebrating the depth of talent in the Odia film industry.
Various dignitaries graced the occasion including Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister of Singapore, Veteran Odia actress Mahasweta Ray, MLA and actor Aakash Das Nayak, MLA Prashant Jagadev, Senior journalist Manoranjan Mishra, Actress Snigdha Mohanty, Actor Sudeep Chhotoray, Producer and event head Ramesh Barik, President of Singapore Odia Society Subrat Nayak and Secretary Hemant Raut.
The event featured a rich cultural programme showcasing Odia music, dance, and heritage. Popular Odia film personalities also performed, adding glamour and regional pride to the evening.
This marks the second international edition of the Star Odia Film Awards, the first having taken place in Dubai. Organizers announced during the event that the next edition will be held in London.
