​​​​​​Tamil Nadu, April 19: At least 13 people are feared dead and several were left injured after a blast at a fire cracker manufacturing unit in Tamil Nadu's Virudhunagar district on Sunday.

Preliminary reports suggest that the blast took place at firecracker manufacturing units in Kattanarpatti village of the district.

The fire has now been brought under control after coordinated efforts of the fire fighters.

While six people were rushed to a nearby hospital after rescuing them from the spot, further operation is currently underway on the spot.

Official information on the mishap and the precise cause behind the explosion, are yet to be availed.
