Keonjhar, April 30: A youth sustained critical injuries following a scuffle at the Bada Bazaar fish market in Anandapur of Keonjhar district.

According to reports, the incident occurred after a heated argument broke out between two fish vendors. The situation escalated when one of them allegedly slapped the other. The youth, identified as Kalandi Behera, lost his balance due to the impact and fell onto a fish-cutting blade (Paniki).

The sharp blade reportedly pierced his chest, leaving him seriously injured. He was immediately rushed to the Anandapur Sub-Divisional Hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as his condition deteriorated.

Police from Anandapur reached the spot soon after the incident, seized the fish-cutting equipment, and have initiated an investigation into the matter.
