Jatni, March 8: Jatni Police on Sunday recovered a hefty cache of stolen gold ornaments and picked two including a local Jeweller in this connection.

According to report, The Police has detained a Jeweller identified as Tukuna Sahu, the owner of Nageswari Jewellery, along with an alleged thief, named Sanatan Sahoo, late on Saturday night.

During investigation, a large quantity of gold ornaments was recovered from their possession.

According to sources, the jeweller is suspected to have purchased the stolen gold ornaments from Sanatan Sahoo, who is alleged to have stolen the ornaments from different places across Odisha.

Acting on specific information,the Jatni Police detained both individuals, grilled them for hours and recovered the theft goods during the operation.

The Police have launched a detailed investigation into the case, to  nab other aides if involved in the crime network.

Further inquiry into the case is currently underway.
