Cuttack, May 30: A tragic road accident claimed the life of a young woman in Cuttack’s Jobra area on Saturday after a private bus allegedly hit her scooter.

The deceased has been identified as Swagatika Mohanty. According to reports, the accident occurred while she was travelling on a scooter when a private bus named Jai Kapis rammed into the vehicle, leading to her death.

On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. The body was later sent to SCB Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Police have seized the bus and the scooter involved in the accident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the mishap.
