Birmitrapur, Ap 13: The family of a young woman has lodged a complaint at Birmitrapur police station, alleging that she was sold for ₹1.5 lakh.

According to the complaint, the woman was promised employment by a local couple. She was then taken to Rourkela, where, with the assistance of another woman and some men, she was allegedly married off in Madhya Pradesh.

After managing to contact her family by phone and revealing the ordeal, her relatives rushed to the police station to lodge a formal complaint.

Authorities have launched efforts to locate her and ensure her safe return.
