Konark, April 17: The Konark Sun Temple in Odisha pulled crowd of visitors on Thursday for the magnificent programs organized here to mark the World Heritage Day.
Thousands of visitors thronged the heritage site from the morning to enjoy the panaromic scene of the Konark Sun Temple as the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) authorities allowed free entry to all visitors.
Apart from it, and a plethora of historical and artistic event were showcased based on Odisha architecture marvels. Students of JNV and residential schools managed by the SC/ST Development Department along with the local school took out a heritage rally in the Konark town to sensitize locals on the significance of the World Heritage Day.A heritage photo exhibition was held wherein competitors along with a score of sculptures showcased their creativities. Following this, a formal meeting was held in which former ASI Superintending Archaeologist Dr. Koraprasad Padhi joined as the chief guest and Archaeologist Engineer Chittaranjan Das, Assistant Superintending Archaeologist Prasant Kumar Nayak, Conservation Officer Devendra Kumar and Harischandra Dash joined as the guests of honour who underlined the historical significance of the Odisha Sun Temple.
