Baripada, Oct 27: Women's Organisations have staged a dharna before Morada tehsil office in Mayurbhanj over the bidding process of sand quarries on Wednesday. They demanded extension of the dateline of the bidding process in view of BJP’s Mayurbhanj Bandh on Monday. Sources said Morada tehsil office had issued notifications on bidding of Badafera, Barkand, Gadia and Gandaguhali sand quarries in the Jambhira River. According to the notifications, the last date for the auction call was on October 25.However, some interested bidders could not submit their quotations on the same date as the BJP called Mayurbhanj bandh and the consequent dharna of the party activists before the office. Following this, the failed bidders demanded extension of the dateline, but in vain. However, the tehsil authorities stuck to the date line and readied to open the tender box today. Reacting over it, hundreds of women under the aegis of Morada Block Mission Shakti staged dharna before the tehsil office demanding extension of datelines for the bidding process.
