Dhenkanal, Sept 2: In yet another instance of human-animal conflict, a woman was reportedly trampled to death by an elephant in Hindol block of Odisha's Dhenkanal district last night.
The deceased woman has been identified as Sansar Gananayak and the incident has been reported from Nuagaon village under Hindol block.
As per reports, Sansar was asleep when an elephant attacked and trampled him to death. On Tuesday morning, locals discovered his body and promptly alerted Forest Department officials.
Upon getting the information, forest officials arrived at the scene to assess the damage and provide compensation to the family.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
