
Bhadrak, Oct 4: A woman, who was allegedly abducted by a truck driver from near the Charampa Reserve Police Line in Bhadrak late Wednesday night, has been rescued safely from Keonjhar. The accused driver was apprehended by the police in the Jhumpura area.
The shocking incident was captured on CCTV, showing the driver forcibly taking the woman away. The footage quickly went viral, sparking public outrage and raising concerns about security in the region.
According to police, the woman was rescued through swift action and the accused driver was taken into custody for further interrogation. “Initial reports suggest that the woman is not in a stable mental condition. A case has been filed, and we are also questioning the Truck Drivers’ Association,” said Additional SP Arupa Abhishek Behera.
The incident has raised alarm among local residents, who are now calling for stricter patrolling and improved security measures, especially in vulnerable areas, to prevent such crimes in the future.
