Woman killed, husband critical in elephant attack in Odisha’s Angul

Angul, Aug 29: A woman was killed and her husband sustained critical injuries after an elephant reportedly attacked them at the Bantala forest range in Odisha’s Angul district today morning.

The deceased woman has been identified as Sulochana Biswal, a resident of Talagarh village in the district.

As per reports, Sulochana Biswal along with her husband Chhabil Biswal had gone to their farmland for work today morning when a tusker attacked the couple. As a result, the duo sustained grave injuries.

After learning about the incident, some villagers rescued the duo and rushed them to District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) where doctors declared Sulochana dead. Chhabil is currently under treatment.

Till the filling of this report, neither any official from the Forest Department nor police had reached the spot.
