New Delhi, December 17: Silver prices surged by Rs 7,300 on Wednesday, crossing the unprecedented Rs 2 lakh per kilogram threshold in Delhi markets.

This milestone was driven by strong demand both domestically and globally, as reported by the All India Sarafa Association.

On Wednesday, silver traded at Rs 2,05,800 per kg, up from the previous closing price of Rs 1,98,500 per kg.

Meanwhile, in the local bullion market, gold prices rose by Rs 600, reaching Rs 1,36,500 per 10 grams (inclusive of all taxes), compared to the previous closing of Rs 1,35,900 per 10 grams.
