Kendrapara, Oct 26: Actor-turned politician and Kendrapara Lok Sabha MP Anubhav Mohanty has been sidelined in the BJD following his marital discord with wife Varsha Priyadarshini.
He is no more seen in party meetings and government programmes in the district. During the Durga Puja festivities he did not attend any puja celebration, neither he put up hoardings, flexes or banners wishing the people of Kendrapara. Besides, other party workers and leaders also did not put up his photo in their wishes.
The MP was nowhere seen during the Panchayat poll campaign in 2022. The party has been excluding him from the list of star campaigners during the recent bypolls.
Ahead of 2024 general elections, many political aspirants of BJD have come forward to replace Anubhav Mohanty.
Furthermore, only three leaders from the district have won from the Lok Sabha constituency – Sarat Kumar Deb, Prabhat Kumar Samantaray and Archana Nayak. All others who represented the constituency were from other districts. According to BJD sources, the party is mulling to field a veteran leader of the district in 2024.
On the other hand, Mohanty has been in limelight for his marital dispute with wife Varsha Priyadarshini.
