Angul, Oct 23: In a tragic incident, Block Education Officer (BEO) Athmallik collapsed all of a sudden on Thursday while waiting for bus.

The mishap took place at the Boinda bus-stop in the afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Sibananda Dhada, a native of Soro in the Balasore district.

Sources said, the BEO was returning to his office at Athmallik town today after celebrating Diwali festivity at his home. After reaching Boinda station by train, Dhada walked to the bus-stop and waited for a bus to Athmallik. Meanwhile, he fell down at once and collapsed on the spot.

Onlookers rushed the BEO to the Boinda Hospital for resuscitation. However, he was declared received dead by the doctor who examined him.

The precise reason behind the BEO’s death is yet to ascertain.However, it is suspected that he died of heart attack.

Boinda outpost police on being informed seized the body from the hospital and sent for post-mortem.
