Puri, Sept 22: The Vamana Janma ritual will be observed at the Srimandir in Puri on Wednesday on the occasion of Bhadra Shukla Dwadashi. In view of the special rituals, public darshan will remain suspended from 5 pm to 11 pm, the Srimandir administration said.

The restriction will come into effect after the Madhyanna Dhupa ritual and will remain in place until 11 pm. Devotees have been advised to plan their visit accordingly.

Bhadra Shukla Dwadashi is observed as the appearance day of Lord Vamana, the fifth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The day is also known as Vamana Janma or Vamana Dwadashi and holds special significance in the Hindu religious tradition.

As part of the observance, special rituals will be performed at the Srimandir. According to tradition, the appearance of Lord Jagannath in the Vamana form is observed around noon on Bhadra Shukla Dwadashi.

Like the Sri Rama Janma and Sri Krishna Janma rituals, the Vamana Janma ritual at Srimandir is performed following specific traditional rites and customs.
