Bhubaneswar, May 23: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has increased the number of examination centres for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination from 80 to 83 across the country. As part of the expansion, Bhubaneswar, Kanpur and Meerut have been added as new examination centres.
According to UPSC sources, Odisha earlier had examination centres only in Cuttack and Sambalpur. With the addition of Bhubaneswar, candidates from the state are expected to get better accessibility and convenience.
Following the inclusion of the three new centres, nearly 23,000 candidates have reportedly changed their examination centres from Cuttack, Lucknow and Ghaziabad. The move is expected to particularly benefit differently-abled candidates by reducing travel difficulties and improving access to examination facilities.
