Bhubaneswar, Feb 16: The Odisha Legislative Assembly’s budget session is set to begin tomorrow, February 17, and will run until April 8, 2026. Ahead of the session, Speaker Surama Padhi has called for an all-party meeting today, Monday, to ensure smooth and orderly proceedings in the House.
During the meeting, Speaker Padhi is expected to seek the cooperation of all members for the effective conduct of the session. She will also appeal to all political parties to uphold democratic traditions and maintain the dignity of the legislative proceedings.
Additionally, the meeting will provide an opportunity for the parties to discuss and finalize the key issues that they intend to raise during the session.
As per sources, Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati will deliver his customary inaugural speech on the opening day of the budget session. On February 20, Odisha Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will present the state Budget for the financial year 2026-27. The session will be conducted in two phases and is expected to conclude on April 8.
