Umarkote, Feb 23: In a daring armed robbery, six criminals broke into a house in Kochaniamba village late Sunday night, tying up the owner and fleeing with Rs70 lakh in cash and a large quantity of gold jewelry.

According to police sources, the victim, Amulya Jena, had kept the cash at home after selling some land a few months ago. The intruders threatened him with a firearm, handcuffed him, and stole Rs 70 lakh from a Godrej safe, along with 14 gold coins, 3 gold lockets, and gold earrings.

Amulya managed to free himself and alerted his family and the police. Umarkote police have begun investigations, but as of now, there are no leads on the suspects. Authorities hope that the arrival of the forensic team will aid in cracking the case.
