Lucknow, June 17: Former Union Minister Uma Bharti fell ill while travelling by road from Haridwar to Delhi and was given medical assistance in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district on Tuesday evening, officials said.

According to authorities, the 67-year-old senior BJP leader began feeling unwell during her journey, prompting her convoy to halt near a petrol pump close to Sindhawali village. She was immediately attended to and provided first aid at the spot.

Muzaffarnagar Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sunil Tewatia confirmed that Bharti received medical attention on-site and her condition stabilised after initial treatment. Following this, she resumed her onward journey to Delhi.

Officials added that there was no major cause for concern and the situation was brought under control quickly.
