UBI concludes friendly Women’s Hockey match

Bhubaneswar: Continuing its commitment to promoting sports and empowering women, the Union Bank of India (UBI) organized a friendly match between the Union Bank of India Women’s Hockey Team and the Sports Hostel, Rourkela here at Kalinga Stadium on Friday. UBI team emerged as the winner with a score of 3-1 goals.

UBI continues to promote initiatives that encourage sports, community development, and gender equality. The successful conduct of women’s hockey match reaffirms the Bank’s commitment to nurturing talent and supporting the spirit of sportsmanship.

The event was graced by UBI officials Asheesh Pandey, MD & CEO, Srinivasan Varadarajan, Non-Executive Chairman, along with Executive Directors Nitesh Ranjan, Ramasubramanian S, Sanjay Rudra, and other directors of the bank.

The event was also attended by Sampad Chandra Swain, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education, Government of Odisha and Suryavanshi Suraj, Minister Sports & Youth Services.

Speaking on the occasion, Asheesh Pandey said, “Union Bank of India’s Sports Team represents health, competitiveness, and sportsmanship. Sports play a vital role in maintaining both physical fitness and mental calmness.
