Balasore, May 28: In a shocking incident, two women were detained for attempting to steal a newborn baby girl from the Balasore DHH. The incident occurred around 2:30 am when the women snatched the 7-day-old infant from her mother's lap while she was sleeping in the maternity ward.
According to reports, when the mother woke up and screamed, the women panicked and dropped the baby before attempting to flee the scene. The baby girl, originally from the Bhogarai Arubahati area, was unharmed.
The two women, identified as residents of Kharagpur and Balasore, were caught by locals and subsequently handed over to the Town Police. They were detained, and the police have launched an investigation into the matter to determine the actual motive behind the abduction attempt.
