Two former revenue officials, senior clerk sentenced RI by Odisha Vigilance Court

Rourkela, August 22: One Basanta Kumar Mishra, Former RI (Retired) and Sisir Kumar Behera, ARI, both of Sole Revenue Circle under the Gurundia Tahasil, in Odisha’s Sundargarhd district who were charge sheeted by the Odisha Vigilance U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 PC Act, 1988/34 IPC for demanding and taking bribe from a complainant for issuance of income & caste certificate, were convicted by Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundargarh on Friday.

The Vigilance Court sentenced each to undergo rigorous imprisonments for a period of 4 years and with cash penalty.

Apart from it, one Trilochan Sahu, former Senior Clerk, Padampur Tehsil in the Bargarh district was convicted in DA Case.

Sahu who was charge sheeted by the Odisha Vigilance in a case U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC Act, 1988 for possessing disproportionate assets (DA), was sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 years with cash penalty.
