Patna, May 15: Bihar Police have registered two FIRs against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and over 100 party workers for holding the 'Shiksha, Nyay Samvad' outreach programme at Ambedkar Hostel in Bihar’s Darbhanga district without official permission, officials confirmed on Thursday.

Despite being denied permission by the district administration, which had proposed an alternate venue, the Congress proceeded with the event. Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, interacted with students during the programme, which is part of the party’s ongoing state-wide public outreach campaign.

The Congress’s refusal to accept the administration’s alternative venue led to a standoff, culminating in the FIRs being lodged.
