Bhubaneswar, July 29: The Department of Women & Child Development (W&CD), in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), organized a virtual training session on the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, for Internal Committee (IC) members across Odisha.
The training session, conducted from the W&CD Conference Hall, drew enthusiastic participation from IC members and key stakeholders statewide. Senior officials, including the Principal Secretary of the W&CD Department, the Director of ICDS & Social Welfare, and other dignitaries, joined the session virtually.
Ms. Anuja Gulati, Programme Management Specialist at UNFPA, served as the resource person. She provided a comprehensive overview of the legal framework under the POSH Act and engaged with participants to address real-time queries. Her insights focused on the dynamic challenges faced by ICs and the critical role they play in fostering safe and equitable workplaces.
The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks, reinforcing the state’s commitment to strengthening institutional mechanisms for preventing workplace harassment and safeguarding women's rights.
