Traditional ‘Tahiya’ headpieces reach Koraput's Sabara Srikhetra for Sri Gundicha Yatra

Puri, Jul 2: The traditional Tahiya headpieces for Sri Jagannath, Sri Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra arrived at Sabara Srikhetra in Koraput from Puri on Wednesday ahead of the Sri Gundicha Yatra.

The sacred headpieces, an integral part of the deities' ceremonial attire during the annual chariot festival, were transported from Puri to Koraput for use in the rituals associated with the Sri Gundicha Yatra at Sabara Srikhetra.

The arrival of the Tahiya marks an important milestone in the festival preparations, with devotees and temple servitors welcoming the sacred ornaments with devotion and traditional rituals.

Worth mentioning, Sabara Srikhetra in Koraput celebrates the Rath Yatra in a manner similar to Puri, drawing thousands of devotees from across the region every year.
