Bhubaneswar: Three Web journalists were arrested on Sunday following a violent altercation between two groups near the Hatatota Level Crossing in Talcher on Saturday night.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Manil Maharana, Anam Naz, and Shahid Khan.
According to Talcher police, the incident came to light after journalist Rabindra Sethi lodged a complaint alleging that he was physically assaulted during the clash. Sethi claimed he was buying fruits at a local market when a group of journalists attacked him, resulting in injuries to his head and hand.
"Based on the complaint filed by Rabindra Sethi, a case was registered and three individuals—Manil Maharana, Anam Naz, and Shahid Khan—were arrested and produced before the court," said SDPO Bharat Charan Sahoo. "Another accused is currently absconding, and efforts are underway to trace and apprehend him."
Police have initiated further investigation into the matter.
