Bhubaneswar, March 5: While the warmth for Rajya Sabha elections reverberates across the nation, nominations for the coveted thrones have been submitted on Thursday.

As in other states, wherein the Rajya Sabha elections are round the corner, nominations have been submitted in Odisha today bu some prominent state brasses belonging to pivotal parties.As many as 5 aspirants, 2 from the ruling BJP, two from BJD including a common candidate and an independent one, have filed their nominations before the Returning Officer. Meanwhile,Odisha BJP President Manmohan Samal and MP Rajya Sabha Sujeet Kumar filed their nomination for the incoming Rajya Sabja poll scheduled for March 16.

For the Rajya Sabha election, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded two candidates. Manmohan Samal and Sujeet Kumar also filed their nominations as the party’s nominees.

During the electoral process, Odisha BJP Chief Manmohan Samal & sitting Rajya Sabha MP Sujeet Kumar filed their nomination papers in presence of scores of BJD state leaderships. Earlier in the day, Samal and Sujeet Kumar was accorded congratulation and good wishes for their new feats, by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

Besides the two senior BJP leaders, former Union Minister & Rajya Sabha MP Dillip Roy who has thrown his hat in the ring, also filed nomination amid a crowd of his well wishers & supporters.
