Bengaluru, February 7: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Saturday that a premium train service connecting Bengaluru and Mumbai will be launched soon.

Speaking to the media, Vaishnaw highlighted that Karnataka had received a record allocation of Rs 7,748 crore in this year's railway budget — nearly nine times the amount allocated during the Congress-led UPA government's tenure. Overall, the state's railway investments total Rs 52,950 crore.

He emphasized that this significant investment would fund various initiatives, including track development, station redevelopment, enhanced safety measures, improved announcements, and the much-awaited Bengaluru suburban railway project, along with several new ventures in Karnataka.
