Hyderabad, May 31: In a spectacular evening celebrating beauty, strength, and resilience, Opal Suchata of Thailand was crowned Miss World 2025 at a star-studded ceremony in Hyderabad, Telangana. The grand finale marked the conclusion of the 72nd edition of the prestigious pageant.
Reigning Miss World Krystyna Pyszkova of the Czech Republic ceremoniously passed the crown to Opal, who captivated the audience in a symbolic white gown adorned with opal-inspired florals. Designed to embody healing and transformation, the gown was a visual tribute to Opal's personal mission, “Opal For HER.”
“The shimmering white fabric and delicate opal-like florals reflect women who choose hope over fear,” Opal shared on Instagram. “The soft flare mirrors the ripple effect of compassion—how one heart can awaken many. Swarovski crystals sparkle like the inner light that guides us through darkness.”
More than just fashion, Opal’s gown told a story—a celebration of women who dream boldly, even through hardship. “Just like the opal, I shine in my own light,” she added in her post.
While Thailand celebrated its new queen, the evening brought disappointment for India. Nandini Gupta, India’s representative, did not make it into the Top 8 finalists despite advancing to the Top 40 through a standout early performance. She was among 18 contestants who fast-tracked to that stage, but fell short as the final cut was made.
The Miss World organization announced the results through its official Instagram handle.
This year’s event was historic for India as it hosted the global pageant for the second consecutive time. The 71st edition in Mumbai saw Krystyna Pyszkova crowned, and this year, Hyderabad played host to the glittering succession as Opal Suchata begins her reign.
